Complex assembly, done faster with Proceedix on Glass

By Mark Speyers

Operators at AGCO, an agricultural machinery manufacturer in Jackson, Minnesota, are using Proceedix on the Glass Enterprise Edition. By reducing the amount of back and forth workers have to do accessing checklists, viewing work instruction manuals or sending photos from tablets or laptops as they assemble machines, Proceedix on Glass has reduced machinery production time by 25 percent and inspection times by 30 percent. As Peggy Gulick, Director of Business Process Improvement, explains, “Employees are now working smarter, faster and safer because they have the information they need right in their line of sight.”

AGCO Jackson Operations, the Minnesota-based manufacturing center for AGCO Corporation is the first agricultural manufacturer to receive the AME Excellence Award presented by the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). The 2017 AME Excellence Award was presented Oct. 10 at the AME 2017 International Conference in Boston, Mass. AGCO was chosen based upon the company’s work converting the Jackson facility to a mixed model line and the quality, efficiency and productivity improvements that resulted in just over two years. Empowering employees, adopting new tools and integrating innovative technology using Glass, an assisted-reality, wearable headset device, are key factors leading to the success. AGCO is the only agricultural equipment manufacturer to use Glass technology in its manufacturing processes.
